Ezzam Rahman

(b.1981, Singapore) is a multi-disciplinary installation and performance artist graduated with a Masters in Arts, Fine Arts from Goldsmiths University of London. Ezzam is known for his interest in the body and his use of common, easily accessible and unconventional materials. Through his work, he features narratives that challenges/expands notions of identity politics. Ezzam was awarded the joint winner of the Grand Prize for the President's Young Talents 2015 and the People's Choice Award by the Singapore Art Museum. In 2016, he was awarded the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award by Yayasan Mendaki and the prestigious Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council, Singapore. In 2017, he presented a new series of skin sculptures and performance piece for the Singapore Tourism Board's Singapore: Inside Out held in Sydney, Australia.

Statement
I see my works, may they be through the sculptures, installations or performances as unfinished glimpse of the basic human emotions. They are improvisational objects in which the constructed of ready made are used to question our own making of the world through memories, feelings and senses. Most of my works are time-based ephemeras, inviting the viewers to question the value and worth of impermanence. I rely on our instinctual desires for beauty, abject poetics and seduction through unconventional visual aesthetics, may it be by various materials or the presence and absence of my breathing body.

ازام رحمان

(متولد 1981، سنگاپور) هنرمند چند-رشته‏ای؛ چیدمان و پرفورمنس، دانش‏آموخته هنر با مدرک فوق لیسانس از دانشگاه گلداسمیت لندن می باشد. ازام به خاطر علاقه‏اش در زمینه بدن و کارهای رایج و مواد قابل دسترس مردم و نامتعارف، شناخته شده است. وی از طریق کارهایش روایاتی را بیان می‏کند که مفاهیم سیاست‏های یکسانی را به چالش می کشد. ازام موفق به دریافت جایزه گرند ریاست جمهوری 2015،استعدادهای جوان و جایزه انتخاب مردم توسط موزه هنر سنگاپور گردید. در سال 2016 وی موفق به دریافت جایزه امید جوانان گُه چوک تانگ توسط یاسان مِنداکی و جایزه معتبر هنرمند جوان، توسط شورای ملی هنر سنگاپور گردید. در سال 2017، وی کارهای جدیدی از مجسمه‏های پوستی و پرفورمنس‏هایش برای هیئت توریسم سنگاپور در سیدنی استرالیا اجرا نمود.
بیانیه:
من کارهایم را در دل مجسمه‏ها، چیدمان‏ها یا اجراها به صورت نگاه اجمالی تمام نشدنی احساسات پایه‏ای بشر می‏بینم. آنها اشیاء بداهه پردازی هستند که درواقع از طرق مختلف مانند احساسات، خاطره‏ها و حس‏ها  ما را درمورد محیط اطراف به فکر وامیدارند. اکثر کارهای من اشاراتی هستند با مبنای زمانی زودگذر که بیننده را به فکرکردن درمورد ارزش و بهای ناپایداری محیط وامیدارد. من وابسته به تمایلات غریزی به زیبایی، به شاعرانه‏ها و اغوا کننده‏ها، از طریق زیبایی‏های بصری غیرمتعارف هستم، که می‏تواند برگرفته از مواد طبیعی مختلف یا حضور و غیبت بدن زنده من باشد.
