Fereshteh Alamshah (b. 1977, Dezful, Iran) Painter, Video and environmental artist , curator She was born in 1977 in Iran in artistic family and when she was a child she was living in the city of Dezful (Dezful is a city in Khuzestan Province, Iran) in a period of war between Iran and Iraq.To escape of the bombing her family took refuge to nearby lush villages and in this way nature became a source of relaxing ,friendship ,reality and creativity. She was always painting even when she was studying in the field of computer in Isfahan. Because of her activities and interest in artistic fields she got her B A in Filmmaking from Broadcasting University.Now she is the Founder and Director of VideoArtist festival and member of Painters Association in Isfahan, member of art and nature group in South Korea(Yatooi) and member of WEAD group ,woman environmental artist directory , in America and she is the manager of “ ALMON” art residency in Khara desert. From 2000 up to now, she has six solo exhibitions in painting, installation, performance and video art, Such as an exhibition titled “Breathing in plastic “in the Isfahan Museum of Contemporary Art in 2010.She took part in more than 42 group exhibitions in different cities of Iran such as Tehran,Isfehan,Shiraz,etc. She also presented in 21 international exhibitions in environmental art and video art in other countries such as Italy, England, and Mexico,etc. From 2010 up to now, she was curator of sixteen exhibitions inside and outside the country and also was Executive Secretary of the several festivals in Iran and also was a member of Jury, the ninth Italian Megmart video art festival. She has received seven national awards such as First Place in New Art in Sixth festival of “Tajali Ehsas (Expression of feeling), Specialized to artistic women in 2009.She also is a writer of the book titled “Red Konars Season” including a collection of her memories of her childhood in wartime.
