“Life is light” Light is life. Life thrives in light. Humans evolved as part of nature. Light gave life to plants and animals. Human beings separated their lives from nature and started changing nature to suit their needs. This has created an imbalance, this is threatening the survival of human race. Unless we see ourselves as part of the nature we will be lurching in the dark and heading for disaster.

Godwin Roger Constantine (b. 1964, Colombo, Sri Lanka) I was born in Katugastota, in Sri Lanka. I am from a minority community of Sri Lanka. Our family was displaced from Kandy due to racial riots. I had my undergraduate education at the University of Jaffna. During my undergraduate period ethnic war broke in Sri Lanka. I was living in Jaffna, the worse affected part of the country due to war. I have been involved in art and theater activities since my childhood. During the war period our universities were closed and I used that period to study art and involve in cultural activities. In 1993 I moved to Colombo, the capitol of Sri Lanka. I did my first performance in 1994 titled “Broken Palmyrah”. This was the first performance art event to take place in Sri Lanka. In 2015 I along with a fellow artist we formed “Theertha Performance Platform” to promote performance art practice in Sri Lanka.
