Mina Behkar
(b.1987, Tehran, Iran) After years of experience in photography and photo montage, she started seeking a new way for expressing herself and eventually she found her way in Performance Art. In less than a year she performed over ten performance arts in Tehran and other cities around Iran. She has mainly focused on Consumerism and producing garbage, and damages to environment. By placing her body in litter and garbage all around the nature and closed galleries environment, and her interaction with other bodies, she seeks a right relation with her ecosystem. She puts emphasis on relationship between the struggle for survival and life. Mina Behkar is now a M.A. Student of Art Research in University of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Statement:
Several times a year, I bear a child, a child so heavy and formidable.
Several times a year, I feel nausea and vomit all the bitterness
And several times a year I am confined at home, a home has never belonged to me
Women, children, environment, and nature are things inside me, which after I am confined at home, would be born in forms of photos or performance art, they come out and this is my way of living, hard or easy at home which is always cloudy.

(متولد 1987، تهران، ایران) بعد از سال‏ها تجربه در عکاسی و فتومونتاژ به دنبال شیوه جدید برای بیان درونیات خود می‏گشت، تا اینکه پرفورمنس آرت را یافت و در کمتر از یک سال بیش از ده اجرای پرفورمنس آرت در تهران و شهرستان‏های دیگر داشت. او در اجراهایش بیشتر بر مصرف گرایی و تولید زباله و آسیب‏هایی که به محیط زیست وارد می‏شود تمرکز می‏کند. وی با قرار دادن پیکر خود در میان انبوهی از زباله‏ها در طبیعت و در محیط بسته گالری و تعاملش با سایر پیکرها جویای رابطه‏ای درست با محیط زیستش است، و بر ارتباط بین (زنده مانی) تنازع بقا و زندگی تاکید دارد. مینا به کار در حال حاضر دانشجوی ارشد رشته پژوهش هنر در دانشگاه دولتی سیستان و بلوچستان است.

بیانیه
سالی چند بار باردار می‏شوم، باری بس گران و سهمگین.
سالی چند بار دچار تهوع می‏شوم و هر چه تلخی است را بالا می‏آورم.
و سالی چند بار خانه نشین می‏شوم، خانه‏ای که هر گز از آن من نبوده و نیست.
زنان، کودکان و محیط زیست و طبیعت چیزهایی هستند در درونم که بعد از خانه نشینی به شکل عکس یا هنر اجرا متولد می‏شوند و بیرون می‏ریزند و اینگونه من می‏زیم، سخت و آسان در خانه‏ای که هوایش همیشه ابریست.
